This is the most unusual Earnshaw style of detent which is Hornby's own adjustable spring detent

Hornsby called himself watch & chronometer manufacturer , chronometer maker to Lords of Admiralty

Sold a sextant to Lord Nelson

English box chronometer with flat blue steel hairspring & diamond end stone

early 'Z' style balance

fusee with maintaining power & Earnshaw style of detent
